Audi SQ8 e-tron
The Audi lineup for the 2024 model year will include a new nameplate, the SQ8 e-tron, which is essentially a renamed version of the 2023 e-tron S SUV. There are no major changes to the squareback and Sportback body styles. Pricing for the 2024 SQ8 e-tron has not been released yet, but it is expected to follow the same trim structure as the 2023 e-tron S. The entry-level Premium Plus trim is the one to buy, as it comes with all the expected luxury and convenience features without having to add any option package.
The SQ8 e-tron shares its platform with the Q8 e-tron, but it features a more powerful three-motor electric powertrain that generates 496 horsepower. With two electric motors on the rear axle, it can mimic a torque-vectoring differential by sending more power to the outside rear wheel when necessary to enhance cornering. The SQ8 e-tron can reach 60 mph in roughly four seconds, according to Audi estimates. Its handling is confident and reasonably athletic, although not as crisp as other S-branded Audi models.
All SQ8 e-tron models come with a 106.0-kWh battery pack that can be charged up using a 170 kW DC fast-charging connection. Audi estimates the battery should give the SQ8 e-tron a range of 307 miles per charge, although the EPA rating is not yet official. The cabin is spacious and hushed when cruising, with a largely digital experience. The SQ8 e-tron's dashboard is packed with multiple high-resolution screens, including Audi's digital gauge cluster and two flush-mounted touchscreens in the center. It comes with a plethora of upscale features, such as leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone automatic climate control, heated front and rear seats, a power-operated rear liftgate, and a power-adjustable steering column—all standard.
